Notice to Members: Temporary Closure of Nairn Angling Association Fishings

As many of you are aware, the river levels have remained exceptionally low for some time. This is having a detrimental impact on fish stocks in the River Nairn.
In response, the committee has decided that, with immediate effect, all Nairn Angling Association fishings will be temporarily closed.
Fishing will only resume once the river level reaches 0.45 metres on the Firhall SEPA gauge.

Our river bailiffs will be actively monitoring all beats to ensure compliance with this policy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping to protect the river and salmon\seatrout stocks.

The committee is pleased to announce that we have agreed to lease the Cawdor Fishing beat from the 1st April 2025, the lease will be for a period of 3 years.

The beat is from the Castle Pool down to the Hanger pool which is the right bank if you are looking downstream. Please note that this beat is FLY ONLY the use of spinner or worm is not permitted at any time.

As the permits have already been printed and issued to many members it is essential that you keep a note of fish caught on this beat same as we do for other beats. As there is no place on the permit to record this, can you please use blank pages 22 to 23 and put all the relevant information about your catches, man days fished etc as you would for the other beats.

The Cawdor beat will give members access to a number new pools. The committee hope you will enjoy fishing the new beat.
